Job Responsibilities:
- Teach 12 credits per semester in early childhood and elementary education courses on campus and online.
- Advise and mentor students in the Elementary Education Birth to Grade 3 License Program.
- Contributes to the strategic development of curriculum and academic content through various mediums to ensure the integrity of the educational mission of the Department of Education.
- Develops and designs curriculum and instructional material relevant to a course of instruction.
- Provide an on-campus presence to meet with and to serve students, and to work with colleagues in the department and across campus to fulfill service roles.
- Collaborates with department faculty and staff to develop teaching strategies relevant to the discipline and with local educational institutions and programs including Birth- Grade 12 schools and childcare centers to affirm partnerships.
- Contributes to the development of teaching and learning scholarly work including publications and presentations.
- Engage in program, departmental, university, and community service.
Other Duties:
- Complete required trainings and professional development as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- Masterâs degree or higher with at least one degree in curriculum and instruction, elementary education, early childhood, early childhood special education or a related field. Â
- Minimum of three years of licensed teaching experience in a Preschool-Grade 3 school setting, in Preschool-Grade 12 U.S. schools or U.S.-based schools (IE U.S curriculum or International American schools teaching in English).
- Active engagement in professional practice with Birth-grade 12 schools and childcare centers, professional organizations, and/or other education-related endeavors at the local, state, or national level.

Desirable Qualifications:
- Eligible for a Wisconsin teaching license, preferred Wisconsin Birth-Grade 3 license (Early Childhood licensure as a teacher)Â Link to WI Department of Public Instruction General License information
- Experience with the science of reading, similar to Wisconsinâs Act 20. Link about Wisconsinâs Act 20
- Eligibility for a reading specialist license, as defined by Wisconsin DPI Link to WI Department of Public Instruction General License information
- Eligible for an early childhood-special education license, as defined by Wisconsin DPI Link to WI Department of Public Instruction General License information
- Experience with university-level teaching in teacher preparation programs, including online instruction.
- Experience collaborating with Birth-grade 12 schools for field placements, clinical placements, or residencies.
Compensation: Salary range for this position is: $53,000 - $57,000 annually. This position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including generous paid time off, competitively priced health/dental/vision/life insurance, tax-advantaged savings accounts, and participation in the nationally recognized Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) pension fund.
