Northwood is hiring a mental health therapist for Merritt Creek Academy IDT(Intensive Day Treatment) - 10-14 age group

General Description

The primary responsibility of the IDT Therapist is to provide individual, group, and family therapy across the Day Treatment Setting. Therapy is a dynamic process that integrates various therapeutic approaches and methods to address and alleviate symptoms or challenges experienced by individuals, families, or groups.

The therapeutic process is grounded in comprehensive information gathered through interviews, record reviews, evaluations, and input from the individual, family members, county representatives, court personnel, and other key stakeholders. Based on this diagnostic and assessment data, the therapist—alongside the Clinical Team and through clinical supervision—determines the appropriate course and direction of treatment.

The therapist maintains thorough and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and reports, ensuring they are shared with the treatment team as needed.

In addition to direct clinical services, the IDT Therapist acts as a consultant and co-leader within interdisciplinary teams. This includes enforcing Northwood policies and procedures, offering feedback to the Executive Team on program needs and development, and contributing to the design and implementation of therapeutic programming. As a vital member of the clinical community, the therapist also collaborates with caregivers, external stakeholders, and insurance providers.

The IDT Therapist is responsible for keeping diagnostic assessments, treatment plans, and safety or risk management plans current, as needed or at the direction of the supervisor.
