About this Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior IBM Mainframe Systems Programmer to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of our mainframe vendor-provided system software, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

This is a hybrid position in Duluth, Georgia.
The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $140,000.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Extensive experience with mainframe storage administration including familiarity with DS8000 and TS7700 hardware and VTS, DFSMS, HSM, OAM, CSM, and GKLM software.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Monitor system performance and conduct capacity planning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application development and deployment.
  • Assist with system backups and disaster recovery processes.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to system configurations and procedures.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends related to mainframe systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of five years of experience as a Mainframe Systems Programmer, specifically with IBM mainframe technologies.
  • Proficient in z/OS, JCL, CICS, DB2, and other mainframe tools and utilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., IBM Certified System Programmer) are a plus.
