Job Title: Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist– Fabrication
Location: On-site (Fabrication Shop)Ā

Job SummaryĀ 
The Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist is responsible for ensuring fabricated pipe spools andĀ 
assemblies meet engineering drawings, client specifications, and applicable industry codes. ThisĀ 
role is critical to maintaining fabrication quality through inspection, material traceability, testing
coordination, and accurate QA/QC documentation throughout the fabrication lifecycle.Ā 


Key ResponsibilitiesĀ 
• Perform visual inspection of welds to verify quality, workmanship, and code complianceĀ 
• Verify weld preparation, joint fit-up, alignment, and weld sizeĀ 
• Ensure welding activities comply with approved Welding Procedure SpecificationsĀ 
(WPS)
• Inspect pipe spools against isometric drawings for dimensions, orientation, slope, andĀ 
fit-upĀ 
• Verify incoming materials for correct specifications, heat numbers, and certificationsĀ 
• Maintain material traceability throughout fabricationĀ 
• Coordinate and witness Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities (RT, UT, PT, etc.)Ā 
• Review, document, and track NDT resultsĀ 
• Maintain inspection records, weld logs, and quality documentationĀ 
• Prepare, issue, and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
• Compile and maintain final QA/QC turnover packages for client deliveryĀ 
• Ensure compliance with ASME, API, AWS, and client-specific standardsĀ 
• Support and promote adherence to shop safety policies and proceduresĀ 


Required QualificationsĀ 
• High school diploma or GEDĀ 
• 3+ years of QA/QC experience in pipe fabrication or industrial fabrication preferredĀ 
• Ability to read and interpret piping isometrics and P&IDs
• Working knowledge of ASTM material specifications
• Strong understanding of welding processes and inspection methodsĀ 
• Proficiency with inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and weld gauges
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accurate documentationĀ 
• Effective communication and organizational skillsĀ 


Preferred QualificationsĀ 
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
• NDT certifications (RT, UT, PT, MT)Ā 
• Experience in industrial, refinery, or power plant fabrication environmentsĀ 
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Ā 
• Reduction in rework and NCRsĀ 
• Accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of QA/QC documentationĀ 
• Compliance with quality standards, codes, and safety requirementsĀ
