Position Summary

The Assistant Home Shopping Manager supports the Home Shopping Manager in overseeing all aspects of the Drive Up & Go/Home Shopping operation. This position assists with order fulfillment, customer service, labor management, associate development, inventory accuracy, and operational execution to ensure customers receive a convenient, accurate, and efficient shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities

Department Operations

  • Assist in the daily operation of the Home Shopping/Drive Up & Go department.
  • Support scheduling, labor planning, and workload distribution to meet service goals.
  • Monitor order fulfillment processes to ensure accuracy, quality, and timeliness.
  • Help maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Ensure department equipment, technology, and workspaces are properly maintained and operational.
  • Assist in achieving productivity and performance metrics.

Customer Service

  • Deliver and promote exceptional customer service.
  • Assist customers with order-related questions, substitutions, and issue resolution.
  • Support efficient customer pickup and delivery experiences when applicable.
  • Resolve customer concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Foster a customer-first culture focused on convenience and satisfaction.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Assist with training, coaching, and developing Home Shopping associates.
  • Provide direction and support to team members throughout daily operations.
  • Help communicate department expectations, goals, and performance standards.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
  • Provide leadership coverage in the absence of the Home Shopping Manager.

Order Fulfillment and Inventory Management

  • Monitor order picking activities to ensure accuracy and product quality.
  • Verify proper handling of substitutions and out-of-stock situations.
  • Support accurate inventory practices to improve order fill rates.
  • Ensure products are selected according to quality and freshness standards.
  • Assist with monitoring and maintaining department supplies and equipment.

Safety and Compliance

  • Maintain compliance with all company safety programs and operating procedures.
  • Ensure a safe environment for associates and customers.
  • Support proper food safety, sanitation, and product handling practices.
  • Identify and address safety concerns in a timely manner.
  • Assist with accident prevention and incident reporting procedures.

Financial Performance

  • Support department sales, productivity, and profitability goals.
  • Assist with labor management to meet budget expectations.
  • Monitor operational trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Help drive customer growth and online order participation.
  • Support implementation of company programs and promotional initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous retail, grocery, e-commerce, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer and technology proficiency.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and more with assistance when necessary.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated, freezer, and outdoor pickup environments.
  • Ability to safely operate department equipment, carts, and handheld devices.
