WEEKLY EDITOR

The Avenue News is looking for an editor to run the weekly newspaper located in Essex, Maryland, just outside of Baltimore. This is the sole journalist at the newspaper. You will produce stories and photos and work with page designers to produce the weekly newspaper and post daily to the Avenue's website.

But you will not be alone. The Avenue is one of a dozen newspapers in Adams MultiMedia Chesapeake, and you will be part of the group of editors that manage those newspapers and provide a support group for each other. You will work from the Dundalk office with the editor of The Dundalk Eagle, which covers communities to the south of Essex.

You're passionate, creative and highly technical, driven to flourish in a competitive, fast-paced environment. You're fiercely accurate, with a desire to leverage your knowledge, skills and abilities to share news stories to viewers in our local communities, both in print and online. You have the ability to multitask, meet tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure.

You will ensure stories are ready for immediate digital posting, and you will be able to juggle the demands of digital and print journalism. You will work hard, but you will be serious about maintaining a good balance between work and life.

Essex is a community of 40,000. Amenities include close proximity to Chesapeake Bay and all of its many water sports and activities. It borders Baltimore and is about an hour from Washington, D.C., and 90 minutes from Philadelphia.

Salary: $35,000 to $43,888.00/year
