Main Tasks

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support daily plant production
  • Troubleshoot and solve electrical/PLC related problems on downed equipment
  • Design and implement poke yoke quality countermeasures
  • Wire and program additions to machines
  • Review safety of new and existing equipment
  • Support OEM with new equipment installation
  • Support Maintenance with needed electrical prints and expertise
  • Integrate MES along with MES specialist onto new and existing lines
  • Responsible for the effective launch of new products and seamless transition of current products from advanced engineering to operations
  • Performs time studies, line balancing and implements improvements to current production processes.
  • Attends new design proposal and layout reviews and makes recommendations regarding manufacturability and compatibility with current manufacturing operations.
  • Performs revisions to the process FMEA, control plan, and production flow for design change.
  • Assists Production engineering for customer run at rates for new programs.
  • Performs Investigation and implementation of counter measures to any internal and external quality or safety concerns
  • Reviews the performance of any process changes or machine improvements with the quality department to ensure compliance with customer requirements.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Associates degree or higher in an Electrical/Computer/Industrial/Engineering field.

 

Experience: 

  • 4+ years of controls experience in a manufacturing/production environment
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a manufacturing engineer

 

 
 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering field
  • Automotive manufacturing industry experience
  • Siemens TIA Portal/Step 7 PLC /WinCC HMI programming
  • Wonderware Intouch
  • Serial data communication
  • Fanuc Robot programming
  • Vision systems
 
 

 


Required Skills:                                                                              

  • RSLogix5000/Studio5000 PLC programming
  • HMI programming
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Electrical diagnostics
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
