We are currently looking for a Part-Time Delivery Driver to join us in our Dunn store.
PURPOSE:
Prepares equipment for delivery to the customer for the purpose of demonstration, rental or sale, and instructs customer on basic equipment operating procedures. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager or senior technicians.Â
BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates and maintains vehicles, tools, and equipment required in the pickup and delivery processÂ
- Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignmentsÂ
- Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with job assignmentsÂ
- Transports equipment to/from customers and/or between dealer facilitiesÂ
- Maintains records of pickup and deliveries, and obtains necessary signatures and receiptsÂ
- Maintains all required certifications in line with DOTÂ
- Accounts for all time and for all distance traveled in performing assigned dutiesÂ
- Maintains assigned trucks and related equipment in good conditionÂ
- Ensure proper tie down and transport of equipment without damageÂ
- Assist customers in the safe and proper usage of equipment and recommended additional equipment and supplies to help them perform each task more efficientlyÂ
- Proper usage of company credit cards for fuel and maintenance and submission of receipts on a weekly basisÂ
- Follow safety procedures for loading and unloading of equipmentÂ
- Wash and prep equipment for in-shop service work or return to customerÂ
- Assist in cleaning and washing company vehicles as necessaryÂ
- Coordinate prep of envirocrates, pallets, planter stands, etc. for return to John DeereÂ
- Cell phone is for company usage only. Driver must adhere to motor vehicles safety rulesÂ
- Any other tasks as requested by supervisor
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to operate vehicles, tools, and equipment used in pickup and delivery processÂ
- High school diploma or equivalent experience requiredÂ
- Valid driver’s license required and must maintain a driving record per insurance carrier standardsÂ
- Ability to operate a forklift, preferredÂ
- 1+ year(s) experience as a pickup and delivery driverÂ
- Must be effective at time managementÂ
- Basic parts and machinery knowledge, preferredÂ
- Ability to work in a customer focused environmentÂ
- Must be able to back truck/trailer combinations at acceptable levelsÂ
- Have a basic understanding of OSHA, DOT and EPA regulationsÂ
- Must be able to communicate effectively and positively with customer and dealership personnel as an ambassador for the dealership
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Weight Requirements: Lifting up to 50 lbs.Â
- Mobility: Squatting, bending, lifting, reaching, twisting, standing, sitting and repetitive keyboarding for long duration of timeÂ
- Visual: Working with PC, manuals, and close detailed workÂ
- Driving: Occasional – Short and long distancesÂ
- Dexterity: Ability to grasp and manipulate standard tools and office equipmentÂ
- Noise Level: Medium to High
