Hourly Positions | Austell, GA | Evening and Overnight ShiftsĀ

Jewish Family & Career Services of Atlanta (JF&CS) is seeking caring, compassionate, and committed Direct Support Professionals to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In this person-centered role, you will help residents build daily living skills, participate in their communities, and live as independently as possible while receiving safe, high-quality support.Ā 


The Role at a GlanceĀ 

• Reports to the Residential ManagerĀ 

• Provides direct, person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilitiesĀ 

• Assists with daily living, personal care, health and safety, community participation, and household routinesĀ 

• Works independently and as part of a team in settings that vary based on location and individual needsĀ

What You'll Be Responsible For:Ā 

Daily Living & Personal SupportĀ 

• Provide training and support in daily living skills, including nutrition, personal hygiene, health care, safety, communication, mobility, financial management, home management, and leisure activities, as outlined in each individual service plan (ISP)Ā 

• Provide physical assistance with personal care, which may include toileting, showering, and dressingĀ 

• Assist with meal preparation, shopping, laundry, housekeeping, simple household repairs, and financial and medication management as neededĀ 

• Support each individual's social, emotional, physical, and spiritual development Health, Safety & Community ParticipationĀ 

• Ensure individuals take medication according to their prescribed schedulesĀ 

• Accompany and support individuals during medical appointments, therapies, personal shopping, recreation, and other community activitiesĀ 

• Provide transportation in a privately owned vehicle or agency vehicle as directedĀ 

• Implement behavior supports as directed in each behavior support plan (BSP)Ā 


Documentation & CollaborationĀ 

• Maintain required records and submit timesheets, expense reports, daily documentation, and other paperwork accurately and on timeĀ 

• Assist with the development of ISPs, annual ISP summaries, and BSPs as requested by the supervisorĀ 

• Communicate regularly with families, key supports, job coaches, support coordinators, day programs, and other members of the individual's support teamĀ 

• Participate in monthly house meetings, division staff meetings, and required trainingĀ 

• Keep the supervisor informed of each individual's progress, needs, issues, and concernsĀ 



Requirements

Ā You are:Ā 

• Caring, patient, empathetic, dependable, and willing to learnĀ 

• Organized, creative, and able to manage multiple responsibilitiesĀ 

• Comfortable working independently and as part of a teamĀ 

• Able to communicate clearly in English and manage time effectivelyĀ 


You have:Ā 

• A high school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree is preferredĀ 

• Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities is preferredĀ 

• Basic computer skills and the ability to complete daily electronic documentationĀ 

• A working cell phone with voicemail and text messaging, plus email access that can beĀ 

checked each workdayĀ 


You bring:Ā 

• A valid Georgia driver's license, current Georgia vehicle registration, and a privately insuredĀ 

vehicleĀ 

• The ability to meet the role's physical demands, including standing, walking, running,Ā 

reaching, and lifting or moving up to 80 pounds, with reasonable accommodation whenĀ 

applicableĀ 

• A commitment to respectful, person-centered support and the safety and dignity of everyĀ 

individual served
