Acute Care Nurse Practitioner – Neuro Hospitalist (7-On/7-Off)

  • Schedule: 7 On / 7 Off
  • Compensation: $120,000 to $155,000 per year (depending on experience)

Overview
An established inpatient neurological care program serving the Durant, Oklahoma region is seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join its neuro hospitalist team. This position offers a consistent 7-on/7-off schedule and the opportunity to manage complex neurological and stroke patients in a high-acuity setting. Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive inpatient care for neurological and cerebrovascular patients
• Perform neurological assessments and manage evidence-based treatment plans
• Participate in rapid stroke evaluations and coordinate time-sensitive diagnostics
• Manage seizures, neurotrauma, encephalopathy, and neuromuscular disorders
• Collaborate with neurology, critical care, therapy services, and hospital medicine teams
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment expectations, and recovery
• Document care accurately within the electronic medical record
• Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications
Required:
• Active RN license and ACNP certification (OK or compact eligible)
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum of 2 years acute care or inpatient NP experience
• Strong neurological exam and critical thinking skills

Preferred:
• Neurology, Neuro-ICU, stroke care, or hospitalist experience
• NIHSS or ENLS certification
• Experience with EEG, lumbar puncture, or neuro-monitoring processes
