Job Purpose or Objective(s): 聽You will implement Choctaw Nation鈥檚 environmental programs for all tribal facilities, fee and trust lands. You will report to the Environmental Compliance Officer.

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Applicants with demonstrated experience working with federal agencies are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience collaborating with organizations such as the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Bureau of Reclamation (BOR), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and U.S. Forest Service (USFS) is highly desirable. Candidates should have a strong understanding of federal regulations, grant or contract requirements, interagency coordination, and stakeholder engagement.

Primary Tasks:

聽1.聽聽聽聽聽聽 You will assure compliance with federal, state, local, and tribal regulations for Choctaw Nation facilities by scheduling, conducting, documenting, and following up on sample collections, inspections, and walk throughs.

2.聽聽聽聽聽聽 You will audit and compile data to ensure it meets Federal guidelines. Complete reviews and assessments and submit to for review and signatures.

3.聽聽聽聽聽聽 You will respond to Choctaw Nation internal requests for environmental related assistance.

4.聽聽聽聽聽聽 You will train site staff on responsibilities associated with聽federal, state, local, and tribal regulations.

5.聽聽聽聽聽聽 You will maintain necessary technical and laboratory certifications to conduct assigned tasks.聽 Analyze data.

6.聽聽聽聽聽聽 You will maintain Choctaw Nation environmental policies.聽

7.聽聽聽聽聽聽 You will implement environmental policies and best management practices.

8.聽聽聽聽聽聽 You will maintain good documentation of all job-related activities.

9.聽聽聽聽聽聽 You will compile quarterly progress reports. Complete status and progress reporting documents per program goals.聽 Review monthly financial reports and maintain budget spreadsheets (can maintain complex spreadsheets). Maintain and revise grant goals and budget and monitor line-item fluctuations to complete funding obligations.

10.聽聽 Other tasks as assigned by management.

Minimum Requirements:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Bachelor鈥檚 degree in a science related field and three [3] years of related work in the environmental field, OR聽seven [7] years of directly related experience in lieu of education.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Environmental Certification in a related program (UST, lead based paint, asbestos, mold, safe drinking water, etc.)

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Work independently or in a group and manage priorities independently.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
