POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs any combination of the following tasks to maintain guestrooms, working areas, and the hotel premises in general in a clean and orderly manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cleans rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom and carpet shampoo machine.
  • Cleans rooms, hallways and restrooms.
  • Washes walls and ceiling, moves furniture’s and turn mattress.
  • Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floor.
  • Dusts and polishes metalwork.
  • Collects soiled linen for laundering.
  • Maintains housekeeping carts.
  • Removes trash collected by room attendants.
  • Walk all assigned floors at beginning and end of shift to collect newspapers, trash, soiled linen.
  • Pickup clean linen and refill the par stock of linen on each floor pantry.
  • Refill the par stock of guest amenities and supplies on each floor pantry.
  • Help the room attendants with the heavy lifting when super cleaning / spring cleaning of rooms.
  • Clean all public areas in the prescribed manner while following department standard operating procedures.
  • Assist room attendants with placing bed boards, roll-ways beds, extra bed etc.
  • Report missing / found articles, damage or merchandise problems to the housekeeping supervisors.
  • Respond at all times in a friendly, helpful manner to guests and other associates.
  • Take up any tasks assigned by supervisors as and when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous housekeeping, hospitality, janitorial, or customer service experience preferred but not required. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards. 
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. 
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality. 
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor. 
  • Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and equipment preferred.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts. 

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 

PHYSICAL ABILITY:

 

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. 
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. 
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb stairs frequently. 
  • Ability to move carts, furniture, linens, and supplies throughout the property. 
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions when required.
