Description

 

The Sales Manager – Water Technologies (Americas) is responsible for driving regional commercial growth across the America's (North America, Central America and South America) region through proactive customer engagement, pipeline development, and execution of targeted business development initiatives across industrial water markets.


This role focuses on identifying, qualifying, and converting new business opportunities while supporting strategic account expansion and strengthening long-term customer relationships across key industrial sectors. The position requires a hands-on commercial professional with a strong technical understanding of industrial water treatment applications and the ability to operate effectively within a multicultural, cross-functional environment.


The Sales Manager will collaborate closely with commercial leadership, technical teams, and operations to ensure successful execution of customer opportunities and sustainable growth across the Americas region.


Commercial Performance & Pipeline Development

  • Deliver regional sales growth by developing and converting a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities across the Americas region.
  • Build, manage, and maintain a healthy pipeline through market mapping, customer engagement, lead generation, and channel partner development.
  • Achieve defined revenue, margin, and conversion targets through disciplined opportunity management and execution.

New Business Development

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across key industrial sectors, including Mining & Minerals, Food & Beverage, High-Tech Manufacturing, Power Generation, and Industrial Water Treatment.
  • Drive opportunity progression from initial qualification through to contract award, working closely with technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Support pricing, proposal development, and contract negotiations to secure profitable business.

Customer & Partner Engagement

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with industrial customers, OEMs, and channel partners across the region.
  • Support strategic account development initiatives and contribute to long-term customer growth plans.
  • Position the company as a trusted technical partner by delivering value-based, consultative solutions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with technical, operations, and marketing teams to support project execution, product implementation, and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate internal resources to ensure timely and effective delivery of customer solutions.

Market Intelligence & Strategy Execution

  • Monitor market trends, customer investment plans, regulatory developments, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities and risks.
  • Translate market insights into actionable business opportunities and support product positioning within target industries.
  • Contribute to regional go-to-market planning and territory development strategies.

Commercial Discipline & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and timely pipeline updates, forecasts, and CRM records (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Ensure disciplined tracking of opportunities, customer interactions, and commercial activities.
  • Provide regular reporting on pipeline health, opportunity status, and regional performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Water Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience in industrial water treatment, specialty chemicals, industrial process industries, or technical B2B sales environments preferred.
  • Proven track record in business development, pipeline generation, and customer acquisition within industrial markets is an advantage.
