Job DetailsJob Location: Durham, NC 27705Position Type: Full-Time/Part-TimeEducation Level: High SchoolSalary Range: $15.00 - $15.00 HourlyJob Shift: OvernightPrinciple Responsibilities & Position Purpose: Perform protective and enforcement functions in a courteous and restrained manner in a coping with emergencies, undesired conduct, disturbances and threats to life and property. Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, visitors, and associates. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Average  Percent  of Time 50 % foot patrol of the interior and perimeter of the hotel to observe and identify potential security and safety risks or undesirable conditions. Evaluate situations and make logical decisions on how to proceed and direct work.          10 % Maintain order in the hotel, dealing with the welfare of guests, assisting with door lock problem, coordinated expedient response to emergency conditions such as fire, fire or safety hazards and threats to life and/or property in a calm, rational and persuasive manner. Handle undesired conduct, violations of hotel policy and civil laws as warranted for the security and safety of hotel guests, employee, patrons and property.            10 % Answer security telephone and safety hotline calls and respond in a timely manner based on priority. Prepare schedules and related relevant information on house count, conventions, arrivals and departures from each shift.         10 % Memorize and monitor life safety system including accurate layout of entire building, locations of stand pipes, fire extinguishers, complete alarm reports and checks and report any pertinent information from each shift.         10 % Observe monitors for any unusual activity in the event of suspicious behavior report directly, via radio to the supervisor or roving agent; report any alarms similarly.         10 % Administer Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation CPR, Automated External Defibrillation AED, and First Aid       Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Biltmore from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.         Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.   QualificationsSUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS         In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by management based upon the particular requirement of the company. •    Serve as shift lead agent based on levels of seniority. •    Provide accurate information to inquirers for direction and hours of operations etc. •    Receive, record and secure found property. Research and respond to guests inquiries for lost property. •    Assist guests with door locks, and in room safe problems using moderately complex hand held electronic apparatus. •    Escort guests and employees as requested. •    Other duties as assigned by Supervisors. (continued) •    Ability to climb stairs and ladders at a rapid pace. •    Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances between and within buildings on property. •    Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS EDUCATION High School Diploma EXPERIENCE Prior law enforcement, security or military experience. LICENSES OR CERTIFICATION •    California Guard Card, C.E.R.T. CPR/AED & First Aid GROOMING All agents must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available). OTHER Additional language ability preferred.
