Outdoor Living Supply (OLS) is a leading wholesale distributor of outdoor living products, serving professional contractors, dealers, and customers through a growing network of locations across the United States.

We are seeking a motivated, hands-on Store Manager to lead one of our locations. This is an opportunity for an experienced leader who enjoys building high-performing teams, developing customer and contractor relationships, driving sales, improving operational performance, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

As the leader of the store, you'll be responsible for the overall success of the business—leading your team, executing company strategy, managing financial performance, and strengthening OLS's presence within the local market. If you're energized by coaching people, solving problems, and growing a business, we'd love to hear from you.

As the Store Manager, you'll independently lead all aspects of store operations while partnering with Regional Leadership and Corporate teams to deliver operational excellence and profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of daily store operations, including sales, customer service, transportation, inventory, warehouse operations, safety, merchandising, and workforce management.
  • Drive store sales, gross margin, profitability, and customer satisfaction while meeting or exceeding company goals.
  • Build, coach, develop, and inspire a high-performing team through effective hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee development.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, engagement, and continuous improvement aligned with OLS's FORTITUDE values.
  • Build strong relationships with contractors, customers, vendors, and community partners to strengthen brand recognition and support business growth.
  • Identify opportunities to increase market share, expand customer relationships, and develop new business opportunities.
  • Analyze store financials, operational metrics, inventory performance, product mix, and pricing to identify trends and implement improvement strategies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory through disciplined receiving, replenishment, cycle counts, and inventory control practices.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety programs, and operational standards.
  • Oversee administrative responsibilities including NetSuite transactions, purchase orders, invoicing, inventory reconciliation, bank deposits, scheduling, and timekeeping.
  • Partner with Regional Leadership on budgeting, merchandising, staffing, pricing, and operational initiatives that improve business performance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and customer-focused store environment while ensuring equipment and facilities are properly maintained.
  • Promote safety by leading regular safety meetings and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Support local marketing initiatives, trade shows, community events, and promotional opportunities that strengthen the OLS brand.
  • Travel periodically for meetings, training, or to support neighboring store locations.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 1+ years of Store Manager, Branch Manager, or Assistant Store Manager experience in a retail, wholesale, or distribution environment.
  • Proven ability to recruit, develop, coach, and motivate high-performing teams.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence cross-functional partners.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple priorities while delivering operational and financial results.
  • Experience analyzing business metrics and implementing action plans to improve performance.
  • Strong understanding of customer service, sales, inventory management, and operational best practices.
  • Experience managing budgets, expenses, and profitability.
  • Proficiency with NetSuite or other ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Resourceful, proactive problem-solver with a hands-on leadership style.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in landscape supply, building materials, hardscapes, masonry, construction, wholesale distribution, or a related industry.
  • Experience developing contractor, commercial, or B2B customer relationships.
  • Knowledge of merchandising, inventory optimization, transportation, and warehouse operations.
  • Forklift or Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) certification, or willingness to obtain certification.

Work Environment

This position is based at an OLS store and includes work both indoors and outdoors in a retail, warehouse, and yard environment. Responsibilities include time spent at a computer, assisting customers, supervising operations, and occasionally operating yard equipment (training and certification provided as required). Periodic travel to support nearby locations, meetings, or training may be required.

Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Expected Schedule: 50+ hours per week, generally aligned with store operating hours, including occasional Saturdays and seasonal business needs.
