Position Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated individual, currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, who is interested in clinical data management, especially using AI to automate and optimize tasks like data cleaning, reviewing, coding and reconciliation, improving efficiency, accuracy and speed in clinical trials by reducing manual burdens, freeing up staff for complex analysis. 

This position will office-based in the Research Triangle Park, NC or Philadelphia, PA areas and will report to a director in Data Management. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Learn how data is collected, cleaned, and used in clinical trials

  • Partner with multiple groups in a matrix environment to leverage the existing AI tools or develop new AI capability for data review and visualization dashboards

  • Participate in regular meetings with Data Management functions

  • Assist with data extraction and re-formatting tasks

  • Design and/or maintain flexible programming capable of creating standardized data sets across multiple formats on different studies

  • Present to the department on a topic selected by your manager at the end of your internship

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Biostatistics/statistics, information science or related area

  • Must be at least a Junior in a BA/BS program at university at the time of your application

  • Programming experience with SAS, R or Python

  • Experience using AI for data review is a major plus

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills

  • Master’s students are encouraged to apply

  • Experience working with clinical data and Data Visualization tools

  • Experience working with AI for data review

  • Prior internship, work, or volunteer/extracurricular experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Available to work full-time during the summer months (June-August)

  • Proactive and solution-driven mindset

  • Strong sense of accountability and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
