POSITION SUMMARY:
The Barback position is an extension of the bartender. They are in place to assist the bar staff in delivering top quality Service. The Barback helps the bartenders in maintaining the cleanliness of the bar and keeping inventory levels appropriate for the volume of business.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Keep the bar fully stocked at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the bar and its respective areas.
- Put away the liquor/beer deliveries that come in during the day.
- Assist the bartender with anything that they may need.
- Help with punching orders into the POS system, if needed.
- Cut garnishes when low.
- Refill juice bottles, fruit trays, and ice wells.
- Restock liquor bottles and change out beer kegs during shift.
- Replenish napkins, straws, and other counter items.
- Maintain clean towels in each bartender’s station.
- Clean drink spills and sweep broken glassware immediately.
- Clean counters during & after shift.
- Take out trash and recycling throughout the shift.
- Performs other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 18 years of age or older to serve alcohol (based on state regulations).
- Eagerness to learn and to improve as a barback.
- Passion for hospitality and service.
- Attention to detail.
- Team oriented attitude.
- Strong work ethic.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Must be able to work different shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends. Must be able to work overtime as required.
EDUCATION:
High School diploma, general education degree or international equivalent preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Good knowledge of the English language is mandatory as well as the ability to speak, read and write clearly. Must be able to read and listen to instructions, memos, short correspondences, and messages.
PHYSICAL ABILITY:
- Ability to be on your feet and alert for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. as needed
- Continuous use of hands and arms
- Continuous bending, reaching, and twisting
- Maintains strong personal image and uniform standards
