Job Description

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking a Welder. The ideal candidate for this position has prior welding experience and is mechanically inclined. The right person will have experience with metal fabrication.

Daily Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Assembles key components to existing vehicles, at assigned workstations, performing any combination of following tasks according to specifications and using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and production fixtures.
  • Read and interpret specifications.
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
  • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
  • Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
  • Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
  • Experience with installing crash attenuator assemblies onto existing frames/chassis a plus.
  • Mechanically inclined, experience with using floor jacks, Oil change, filter change, fluid change and tire change.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver's license with 5 years of clean driving record.
  • Experience in heavy truck (gas and diesel) repair.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
  • Technical educational training in Mechanics is preferred. 
  • Experience in welding/fabrication required.
  • Experience working on smaller hand tools such as, chainsaws, trimmers, and leaf blowers.
  • Experience working on mowers, skid steers, spray equipment/ systems are a plus.
  • Ability to work overtime a plus.

Pay rate: $20-30/hour depending on experience.
