Responsibilities
- Prepare, process, and analyze cannabis compliance samples.
- Operate laboratory instruments and associated software.
- Perform LC-MS/MS and GC-MS analyses using Shimadzu instrumentation.
- Review chromatographic data and identify integration, calibration, or quality issues.
- Document work in laboratory notebooks, instrument logbooks, and worksheets.
- Perform instrument calibrations, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain assigned laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Perform technical data review.
- Maintain a clean and organized laboratory workspace.
- Follow laboratory SOPs, quality requirements, and safety procedures.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, chemical engineering, or a related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for education.
- At least two years of laboratory experience, preferably in a regulated environment.
- Hands-on experience operating LC-MS/MS and GC-MS systems.
- Experience with Shimadzu and SCIEX platforms preferred.
- Cannabis pesticide testing experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of analytical chemistry techniques, calculations, chromatographic data, and sample preparation.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, and follow written procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with ICP-MS or PCR is a plus.
