- Safely operate Class A commercial motor vehicles, including tractor-trailers.
- Transport and deliver freight according to assigned routes, schedules, and customer requirements.
- Perform required pre-trip, en route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Properly load, secure, inspect, and protect cargo during transit.
- Follow all applicable DOT regulations, hours-of-service requirements, traffic laws, company policies, and customer-site rules.
- Maintain accurate electronic or written logs, delivery documents, bills of lading, inspection reports, and other required records.
- Communicate with dispatch regarding routes, delays, deliveries, vehicle issues, and changes in operating conditions.
- Safely maneuver vehicles at loading docks, yards, parking areas, and customer locations.
- Promptly report accidents, traffic violations, mechanical problems, cargo damage, and unsafe conditions.
- Maintain a clean and professional vehicle, work area, and appearance.
- Provide courteous and professional service to customers and operational partners.
- Assist with loading and unloading freight when required.
- Valid CDL Class A license and acceptable driving record required.
- Current DOT medical certification required.
- LTL/City driving experience preferred.Â
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, hours-of-service requirements, and transportation compliance standards.
- Ability to safely operate tractor-trailers and commercial motor vehicles in varied driving and weather conditions.
- Ability to accurately complete logs, bills of lading, inspection reports, and transportation records.
- Strong customer service, communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to safety, cargo security, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work overtime, extended hours, and flexible schedules when required.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
