Irrigation Technician

ABOUT PROSCAPES

ProScapes is a Minnesota-based professional landscape and snow services company serving commercial and residential clients across the Twin Cities metro. We've built our reputation on three promises: reliable service, professional crews, and work that's done right the first time. Our team shows up when we say we will, drives clean trucks, wears the uniform, and takes pride in the properties we maintain.
We're growing — and we're looking for an experienced Irrigation Technician who shares our standards and wants a long-term home with a company that invests in its people.

THE ROLE

As an Irrigation Technician at ProScapes, you'll be the expert on site — installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and winterizing irrigation systems on a mix of commercial properties and high-end residential homes. You'll run your own truck, manage your daily route, represent ProScapes directly with our clients, and keep systems running at peak efficiency all season long.
This is a hands-on role for someone who takes ownership of their work, enjoys solving mechanical and electrical puzzles, and knows the difference between "fixed" and "fixed right."

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Perform spring start-ups, mid-season service calls, and fall blow-outs (winterizations) across a route of commercial and residential properties
  • Diagnose and repair issues with sprinkler heads, valves, controllers, wiring, backflow preventers, mainlines, and lateral lines
  • Test, repair, and certify RPZ (Reduced Pressure Zone) backflow assemblies in accordance with Minnesota Plumbing Code
  • Install new irrigation systems and system upgrades, including trenching, pipe fitting, head layout, zone wiring, and controller programming
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with property managers, HOA boards, and homeowners — explaining findings, recommendations, and pricing in plain English
  • Document every call: photos, parts used, time on site, and next-step recommendations
  • Keep your company truck stocked, clean, and presentable — you're a rolling billboard for ProScapes
  • Maintain a safe jobsite and follow all locate/811, OSHA, and MN Plumbing Code requirements

WHAT YOU BRING

Required:
  • Active MN RPZ Backflow Certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days — we'll help)
  • 2–5 years of hands-on irrigation experience including installs, service, and winterization
  • Strong diagnostic skills — you can trace a wire fault, read a controller, and find a stuck valve without calling the office
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record (we'll run an MVR)
  • Comfortable working outdoors in Minnesota weather from April through November
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and operate a trencher, vibratory plow, and hand tools safely
  • Professional appearance and communication — you'll be face-to-face with our customers every day
Nice to Have:
  • Irrigation Association certifications (CIT, CIC, or CLIA)
  • Experience with large-property commercial systems (pump stations, central control, two-wire)
  • Landscape lighting or drainage experience
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive pay based on experience and certifications
  • Company-provided truck — fully stocked, fueled, and maintained (no wear-and-tear on your personal vehicle)
  • Health insurance for you and your family
  • Paid time off — because rest matters
  • Company-provided uniforms, safety gear, and tools for the job
  • Ongoing training & certification support — we pay for RPZ renewals and encourage you to level up
  • Year-round work potential — pair irrigation season with our snow & ice division and stay on the clock all 12 months
  • A real team, not a revolving door — we hire people we'd want to work alongside, and we keep them

IS THIS YOU?

You're the tech who double-checks the zone valves before leaving the property. You'd rather drive back to grab the right fitting than use the wrong one. You answer the homeowner's question before they ask it. You keep your truck like it's yours.
If that sounds right — we want to talk.
