Strategy Sales Representative

DOPE Marketing | Full-Time | In-Person, Minneapolis | $70,000 base + uncapped monthly commission | OTE $115,000 to $135,000+

This is not an account management job. You will have accounts and be responsible for them, but nobody here will be impressed that your customers like you. We will be impressed by how much bigger those accounts get while you have them.

If that distinction doesn't excite you, stop here.

What the job actually is

You get a book of home service businesses: roofers, HVAC, plumbers, restoration, pest, landscaping. These are companies already paying us to send their direct mail. Most of them are sending a fraction of what they should be. Some of them haven't sent anything in months. A few of them are about to become the biggest accounts in the company and don't know it yet.

Your job is to find out which is which, and then go make it happen.

That means:

  • Getting on the phone constantly. Not waiting for the monthly check-in. Not waiting for a ticket.

  • Knowing your book cold. Who's growing, who's gone quiet, who just hired a third crew and needs more mail than they're buying

  • Building the actual marketing plan. Which neighborhoods, which list, which offer, how many pieces, what it should return

  • Selling the rest of the platform. Every-door mail campaigns, permit-based targeting, print, design. We've built more than most customers have gotten to yet, and that's your opening

  • Signing up new business too. Your book is where you start, not where you stop

You'll carry a monthly number. You'll know where you stand against it every week. If that sounds like pressure, it is. It's also the only fair way to do this job. Everybody here can see the scoreboard, and so can you.

What we are asking for

You've carried a number and hit it. Not "supported the sales team." Not "contributed to revenue." You had a quota, and you can tell us what it was and whether you made it.

You go get it. Nobody is going to hand you a list and tell you who to call today. The people who do well here decide that for themselves every morning, and they decide on more than anyone asked them for. If you've only ever worked somewhere that told you what your day looked like, this will be a hard adjustment.

You can hold a room with an owner. You'll be on the phone with people running $2M to $20M businesses who have been sold to by everyone and are testing whether you actually know anything. You need to be able to disagree with them, tell them their plan is too small, and have them thank you for it. This is the one you can't teach quickly.

You chase the big one. In a book of four hundred accounts, a handful are worth more than all the rest put together. Owners about to double, with a real budget, and ready to move. Finding them is half the job. Refusing to let go of them once you have them is the other half.

What you get

  • $70,000 base

  • Uncapped commission, paid monthly, on the mail volume and platform revenue your book produces. Real earners here clear six figures. There's no ceiling and no committee

  • Health, dental, vision, PTO
