About this Role

Senior Scheduler/Planner

Project Location: Eagle Mountain, UT — 75% onsite, Monday–Friday

Ideally seeking candidates who reside in Utah or within close commuting distance.

QISG is seeking a Senior Scheduler/Planner with 10–15 years of experience to support a 286MW simple-cycle power generation project in Eagle Mountain, Utah. This is a construction-focused Project Controls role, not just a P6 scheduling position. The Senior Scheduler/Planner will develop and manage integrated CPM schedules, analyze critical path and schedule delays, monitor EVM and schedule performance, support forecasting and recovery planning, and work closely with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Project Management, field teams, contractors, and the client to keep the project on track.

The ideal candidate has 10–15 years of senior-level scheduling/planning experience supporting EPC, utility, power generation, heavy industrial, or large-scale construction projects. Strong Primavera P6 skills are required, along with experience in cost/resource-loaded schedules, EVM, delay and time impact analysis, critical path, forecasting, recovery planning, and field execution planning. Power generation experience is preferred but not required.

This is a full-time, permanent position with QISG. Upon project completion, the selected candidate will transition to another active project within the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Own and manage Linear Schedule Method (LSM) and Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules in Primavera P6, using the schedule as a tool for both project planning and field execution.
  • Develop, baseline, update, and analyze cost- and resource-loaded schedules, ensuring plans are realistic, achievable, and aligned with project execution strategies.
  • Lead schedule development and coordination with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Project Controls, Project Management, suppliers, and trade partners, ensuring the integrated schedule reflects actual project execution.
  • Maintain WBS and Financial Breakdown Structure (FBS) alignment to support cost tracking, forecasting, EVM, and overall project performance.
  • Analyze EVM, KPIs, cash flow curves, productivity, and schedule performance to identify trends, risks, variances, and potential impacts to project completion.
  • Lead critical path, longest path, schedule delay, and Time Impact Analysis (TIA) and develop recovery strategies to mitigate delays and protect key milestones.
  • Drive short-interval planning, work sequencing, look-ahead planning, productivity tracking, and resource coordination with field teams to improve execution and maintain schedule commitments.
  • Work directly with project leadership, field teams, contractors, and clients to communicate schedule status, explain delays and impacts, and develop actionable recovery plans.
  • Prepare and present schedule reports, dashboards, forecasts, progress updates, and planning deliverables for project leadership and client stakeholders.
  • Independently lead scheduling and planning activities for the project while ensuring alignment with QISG Project Controls standards, processes, and best practices.

What You'll Bring

  • 10–15 years of experience developing and managing resource- and cost-loaded schedules for EPC, utility, power generation, heavy industrial, or large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong Project Controls and planning background, with demonstrated experience in EVM, schedule performance metrics, forecasting, critical path analysis, delay analysis, and recovery planning.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 with the ability to independently develop, baseline, update, analyze, and manage complex integrated schedules.
  • Proven experience using the schedule to identify project risks, understand schedule impacts, and drive corrective and recovery actions.
  • Experience with TILOS, Acumen, or other project controls/scheduling software is a plus.
  • Experience partnering with Engineering, Permitting, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, Project Management, field teams, contractors, and clients to develop execution plans and maintain project milestones.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present schedule status, explain delays and critical path impacts, and work with leadership and clients on recovery strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead scheduling and planning activities on complex construction projects with strong problem-solving, organization, and attention to detail.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Ability to work onsite approximately 75% of the project duration, Monday–Friday.
