Responsibilities

The registered nurse (RN) assesses, manages and treats patients with mental health conditions, emotional disorders and substance issues. Work within multidisciplinary care teams in settings like hospitals, outpatient clinics, and residential facilities to promote recovery and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.

 

Care Planning: Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers to design, update, and implement individualized patient treatment plans. 

Medication Management: Administer psychotropic medications, evaluate drug efficacy, watch for side effects, and educate patients on their prescriptions

Qualifications

Licensure, Certification, Registration, etc.: Must have Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas. Must have current BLS/CPR.

 

ACLS within six months of hire. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served.

 

Education: Graduate of a state approved school of professional nursing practice.  Maintains current licensure in the State of Texas
