Job DetailsJob Location: Eagleville Hospital - Eagleville, PA 19403Salary Range: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 Salary  The Director of Security develops and directs Eagleville Hospital’s Security Program. Provides an ongoing assessment of its effectiveness. Determines areas of risk and provide training in safety/security to staff, and contracts staff as needed.   Qualifications and Competencies   Develop and implement Safety/Security Program Determine and mitigate areas of risk on campus. Instructs staff in search methods and protocols. Provide training for new hires. Make suggestions/recommendations to supervisor and/or administrative team to improve safety and security on campus. Assist in the placement, implementation, administration and training of automated security system. Maintain records for automated system and utilizes as management tool. Responsible for development and writing of new security related policies and procedures and for annual review, and update of all security related policies and procedures. Protect and safeguard Hospital / client / staff belongings / property.   Continuously seek improvements in safety/security program and methods. Ensure safety and security by maintaining security logs, monitoring alarms and security personnel. Provide support and assistance to nursing supervisor on scheduled shift Assist with management of patient disturbances Works closely with the Director of Operations to create disaster/and or crisis preparedness plans. Assist Police Officers when they are called to campus. Oversee Parole Officer’s removal of patients for violation. Responsible for providing assistance to help staff improve performance and for requesting replacement staff if performance is problematic. Manage schedule of security staff assuring coverage for PTO days, and sick calls Communication Complete incident reports for safety security related incidents. Provide expertise in all campus / staff / patient concerns related to safety and security Maintain order within the facility and enforce hospital rules and regulations. Make suggestions/recommendations to supervisor and/or administrative team to improve safety and security on campus. Maintain order within the facility and enforce hospital rules and regulations.  Conduct security patrols throughout campus. Proficient in video surveillance and reviewing of recorded tapes, when required. Skilled and timely use of radio or telephone communication to police, fire or emergency agencies as the situation dictates. Proficient in the use of ECS radio system and telephone communication. Assist with follow up investigation of safety / security incidents, as requested. Performs periodic and random security inspections and prepares security reports, as necessary. QualificationsEducational Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field Qualifications 5-7 years security or law enforcement experience 2-4 years experience with psychiatric, substance use and co-occurring patients; ability to engage and interact well with both patients and staff; ability to take charge in difficult situations, and robust leadership skills. Good decision-making skills and strong oral and written communication skills. Physical Requirements Occasional heavy lifting to assist in moving or restraining patients (approx. 100-350 lbs.). Medium lifting of 25-75 lbs. required on a regular basis to assist with transporting items: e.g., patient belongings, supplies and equipment. Extensive walking and standing; good oral and written communication skills.
