Reports directly to Division Manager, and is responsible for showroom flooring selections, inside and outside flooring sales
in the new construction residential and commercial markets as well as the retail markets while helping achieve the overall company sales goal.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Showroom Selections. Assist builder customers with flooring selections and products. Ability to meet, greet and talk with customers and potential clients.
Inside and Outside Sales. Generate and obtain residential, commercial, new construction and retail sales leads.
Ability to work productively, efficiently and effectively with the initiative and drive under tight schedules
and pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
Be energetic, dynamic, positive, and enthusiastic and possess the ability to think laterally and act
through reasoned decision making.
Communicating with all relevant people and departments (sales, operations, management) and
coordinating all relevant inputs for scheduling.
Reads blueprints and selects appropriate flooring based on space characteristics, style and
comfort of the home or excluding characteristics of the material. Have basic blueprint reading abilities to
direct the selling process
Offers flexible and helpful customer service to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
and repeat business.
Helps maintain current customer base through customer service and quality of product and help
retain possible new customer base generating sales.
Generates timely bids and accurate proposals and takeoffs of commercial and residential
projects.
Receive P.O.’s from the builders, generate selection sheets & cut sheets for internal processing.Be comfortable dealing with and efficient in processing paperwork.
Provide oversight on products being utilized off the showroom floor & assist in selecting new items added to the flooring program.
Knowledge of the builder markets and ‘order to ship’ process a plus
Ability to handle key contact in assigned builders at all levels of the company

Education/Experience:
Ideally educated with an Associate Degree or better; or have relevant professional related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions,
and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software and Internet software. Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel. Possess strong computer skills, blueprint ready software, and competency in basic MS Office applications (outlook, excel, word)
