Job Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations on the manufacturing floor to ensure production goals are met efficiently and safely. This role includes managing a team of production employees, coordinating workflow, enforcing company policies, and maintaining quality and safety standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of production workers to ensure timely and efficient production schedules.
  • Monitor daily operations to meet production targets, quality standards, and customer expectations.
  • Ensure team compliance with safety procedures, company policies, and industry regulations.
  • Conduct training for new hires and ongoing training for team members to improve performance and safety awareness.
  • Communicate with maintenance, quality assurance, and materials departments to minimize downtime and resolve production issues.
  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished products; coordinate with materials team as needed.
  • Analyze production data and prepare reports on productivity, quality, and performance metrics.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes and reduce waste.
  • Address employee concerns, provide coaching and discipline, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Maintain time and attendance tracking for assigned hourly team members.
  • Perform Layered Process Audit (LPA) and 5SENS audits as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and production planning.
  • Familiarity with safety and quality assurance standards (e.g., OSHA, IATF).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and production software systems (ERP or MRP experience preferred).
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and weekends as needed.

 

Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

 

Physical Requirements Essential to Perform Duties of the Job

  • Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to loud noise, moving mechanical parts, and fluctuating temperatures
  • Frequently communicates with employees, customers and suppliers to understand their requests
  • Frequently walks, kneels and stands
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
  • Occasional travel to various business locations or business related functions via automobile or airplane
