By providing hands-on support, guiding social-emotional development, and creating a safe and nurturing environment, this role directly influences children’s ability to thrive, build confidence, and develop essential skills for lifelong success. Working closely with clinicians, staff, and families, the Child Care Interventionist ensures that every child receives the guidance and encouragement needed to reach their full potential. Summary of Duties Provide direct, on-site support to children, implementing daily programs that meet developmental, emotional, and behavioral needs Observe, assess, and document children’s behavior, progress, and individual needs to guide interventions and program adjustments Support social-emotional development, coping skills, and positive behavior through trauma-informed strategies and guidance Maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured environment that complies with licensing and organizational policies Collaborate with clinicians, staff, and families to coordinate care plans, communicate progress, and reinforce strategies at home Assist in planning and leading developmentally appropriate activities that foster cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth Participate in professional development, team meetings, and program planning to ensure continuous improvement and best practices Compensation and Benefits  WCMHS provides a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and a generous retirement contribution match. The pay range for this position is $21.28 - $22.14 per hour. QualificationsSummary of Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in human services, education or psychology preferred. If degree requirements are not complete, working toward BA/BS is required Equivalent of 2 years early childhood experience Experience working with emotionally challenged children preferred Familiarity with and commitment to New Leaf Family Center philosophy and goals Willingness to pursue professional development related to program goals Possession of a valid driver’s license, excellent driving record and access to a safe, reliable adequately insured vehicle is required The ability to deliver services and complete treatment notes in English Workplace Conditions Work takes place in a school and community settings. Frequent transportation of clients in one's own vehicle. This role requires some lifting up to 50lbs and ability to apply restraints to clients within agency training and guidance.
