About the Role

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Assembly Operator who takes pride in precision work and contributing to high-quality aerospace process at Budney Overhaul & Repair, Ltd. In this role, you’ll perform a variety of assembly and finishing operations such as component preparation, testing, surface treatment, and light machining, ensuring all work meets strict quality and safety standards.

This position requires strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to follow technical documentation in a fast-paced shop environment. What You’ll Do

  • Perform assembly and finishing operations in accordance with travelers and operation sheets
  • Carry out processes such as:
    • Plastic bead blasting and aluminum oxide blasting
    • Parts cleaning and surface preparation
    • Threaded insert replacement
    • Epoxy application and painting
    • Hand drilling using jigs
    • Deburring and component finishing
    • Conventional milling operations (as required)
    • Pressure testing and oil flow testing
  • Interpret shop travelers and ensure proper sequence of operations
  • Complete all required documentation accurately, including signatures and dates for accountability
  • Maintain responsibility for the quality and accuracy of all work performed
  • Handle components carefully to prevent damage
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment as required
  • Use calibrated measuring instruments properly and ensure timely return for calibration
  • Monitor and report equipment or process issues to the supervisor
  • Maintain adherence to production schedules and workflow priorities
  • Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
  • Follow all company safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Collaborate with team members and support continuous improvement efforts
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

What You Bring

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work in a manufacturing/shop environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Preferred

  • 1–2 years of mechanical assembly or related manufacturing experience
  • Experience working with complex or precision components (aerospace experience is a plus)
  • Familiarity with assembly, testing, or surface finishing processes

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday
  • Frequent lifting of materials up to approximately 30–50 pounds
  • Frequent bending, grasping, pushing, pulling, and reaching
  • Repetitive hand and arm movements
  • Manual dexterity for handling tools and assembling small components
  • Visual ability to perform close inspection work, including depth and color perception
