Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician performs routine and extensive maintenance repairs related to the upkeep of properties including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, security, environmental, and custodial for our convenience store properties, commercial offices, and rental properties.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Reacts rapidly to all emergency repairs needed

• Completes Preventative Maintenance inspections and repairs as needed

• Repairs minor plumbing: faucets, toilets, drains, leaks

• Repairs doors, door handles, shelving, and light carpentry

• Paints items with spray cans, brush, and roller

• Replaces suspended ceiling tiles, light bulbs, and light lens

• Regularly inspects properties for areas of concern

Qualifications

• Must be of legal age to work in the state or local city or town.

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.

• Prior experience performing maintenance tasks in convenience store or retail industry preferred.

• Woodworking, sheetrock replacement, building interior walls, flooring, tilework.

• Technology skills: iPad, email, Excel, Word, texting, navigating apps, Titan, Clock Shark, ADP.

• Able to speak, read and understand the English language.

• Able to comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos and written or oral instructions.

• Able to work independently.

• Regular, dependable work attendance and punctuality required; works scheduled hours.

• Honesty, integrity, respect is in high regard when dealing with customers, coworkers, vendors and supervisors.

• Team player works well with others to achieve common goals.

• Able to analyze and trouble shoot problems.

• Respond to emergency situations when they arise during off duty hours as needed.

• Maintain a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and comply with Company Fleet Policy.

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift/move 80lbs (boxes, packages, 5 gallon pails)

• Able to withstand odors, dust, cleaning products, paint, oils, gasoline fumes

• Able to climb ladders (mainly 6’ to 8’ step ladder), keep balance, perform tasks; able to climb ladders to 40 feet with no fear of height

• Familiar with the operation of all tools used in the maintenance department, sander, saws, power drill, screw gun, hand tools, etc.

• Familiar with using hand tools such as hammer, wrenches, and screwdrivers

• Can use a broom, push broom and shovel for small tasks

• Able to operate a bucket truck to the height of 40 feet

• Can endure all weather conditions within reason

• Able to maintain extended periods of sitting, standing, reaching, bending

• Clarity of vision near/ far distances and acceptable level of hearing

• Able to travel long distances
