As a Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Coordinator, you are the driving force behind creating and sustaining a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment for our East Canton, OH site. You will ensure regulatory compliance, strengthen our zero-tolerance safety culture, and influence daily behaviors that keep our operation running safely and efficiently.

 

Success in this role comes from your ability to communicate clearly, build trust across the plant, and translate complex regulations into practical actions employees can understand and follow. You'll lead by example, engage directly with teams, and elevate safety awareness every day, making you a visible and trusted partner in keeping our people safe.

 

What You'll Do

 

Leadership & Safety Culture

 

  • Lead by example and set the tone for safety across the facility
  • Coach and influence managers and employees to uphold HSE expectations
  • Conduct risk assessments and lead Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)
  • Promote continuous improvement and accountability in safety practices

 

Compliance & Reporting

 

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, EPA, and state/local regulations
  • Complete compliance calendar tasks and maintain accurate documentation
  • Prepare and submit required environmental permits and reporting
  • Represent RHIM during internal and external audits

 

Training & Incident Response

 

  • Deliver HSE training, including new-hire orientation
  • Investigate injuries, incidents, and near misses; drive corrective actions
  • Support emergency response efforts when situations arise
  • Provide regulatory guidance to leaders and employees

 

Operational Support

 

  • Conduct inspections, audits, and ergonomic assessments
  • Maintain HSE KPIs, case files, metrics, and performance data
  • Partner with teams to identify risks and implement solutions
  • Support ISO 14001, 45001, and 50001-related processes

 

What You Bring

 

Education & Credentials

 

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Preferred Certifications: GSP or ASP

 

Experience & Technical Skills

 

  • 4+ years of HSE experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance processes
  • Experience conducting audits, investigations, and risk assessments
  • Proven ability to deliver effective HSE training and communicate safety expectations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, reporting systems, and cloud-based platforms

 

Work Environment & Schedule

 

  • This role is primarily aligned with normal business hours; however, as the site's dedicated HSE professional, flexibility is required to support operations, training, incident response, audits, and other business needs as needed.
  • Monday-Friday, minimum 40 hours; occasional after-hours or weekend support may be required.
  • Combination of office and in-plant environments with exposure to temperature changes, noise, dust, and production areas.
  • Minimal travel requirements.
