Job DetailsJob Location: Hugos Family Marketplace - Store #5 - 14th St NE - East Grand Forks, MN 56721Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $17.00 - $21.00 HourlyJob Shift: AnyJob Purpose: - The Pharmacy Technician at Hugo’s Family Pharmacy is responsible for supporting pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications, processing prescriptions and insurance claims, managing inventory, maintaining accurate records, and delivering exceptional customer service. The role ensures compliance with Minnesota pharmacy laws and supports pharmacy operations and clerical tasks in a safe and organized environment. Key Responsibilities: - Assist pharmacists by preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently. - Process prescriptions and insurance claims, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant with regulations. - Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stocking, and maintaining accurate records. - Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality and accuracy in all documentation. - Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries and assisting with medication-related questions. - Ensure compliance with Minnesota pharmacy laws and regulations, including maintaining a clean and organized work environment. - Support pharmacy operations by performing clerical tasks and assisting with the management of pharmacy systems. - Operate pharmacy management software and point-of-sale systems efficiently. - Handle insurance claims, prior authorizations, and co-pay collections as needed. - Work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, adhering to all safety and operational protocols. - Stand for long periods, bend, reach, climb, squat, and lift, push, or pull a minimum of 40 lbs as required. - Communicate effectively with patients and team members, ensuring clarity and professionalism in all interactions. QualificationsRequired Education: - High school diploma or GED - Completion of all necessary educational and training requirements to maintain a pharmacy technician license from the Minnesota State Board of Pharmacy Required Experience: - Experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting handling prescriptions, medication dispensing, or customer service - Familiarity with basic pharmacy operations, recordkeeping, and inventory management - Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist Preferred Experience: - Experience in a retail or community pharmacy setting - Handling insurance claims, prior authorizations, or co-pay collections - Experience with pharmacy management software and point-of-sale systems - Prior exposure to controlled substance handling or clinical pharmacy services Required Skills and Abilities: - Ability to communicate effectively with patients and employees - Capacity to stand for long periods - Ability to bend, reach, climb, and squat frequently - Proficiency in typing and operating a computer - Competence in speaking on the telephone - Capability to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 40 lbs. - Ability to read, write clearly, speak clearly, and understand English
