Overview of Team:
CEO’s Early Head Start/Head Start program creates partnerships and develops opportunities for social and economic growth and empowerment in individuals, families, and communities. We are a federally funded program that provides comprehensive early childhood services to children aged 6 weeks to age 5 and families throughout Rensselaer County.
Position Summary:
CEO is seeking an Assistant Center Manager to supervise and provide oversight to the UPK collaboration with Rensselaer School District. Additionally, this role will assist with the management of center operations and assigned staff.
Job Description:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with managing the day-to-day operations of the assigned location. Implement and enforce all ECS department policies, procedures, and regulations as they pertain to Head Start Early Learning Outcome Framework, Performance Standards, and Day Care licensing program requirements. Actively participate in the NYS OCFS Day Care Licensing Renewal Process.
- Supervise assigned staff and assist with the supervision of all center staff in compliance with all agency and personnel policies, procedures, OCFS regulations, and contracts (if applicable).
- Assist with conducting a comprehensive orientation to new staff. Provide daily support, observations, and monitoring of all assigned classrooms and staff.
- Build a positive working relationship with the community and collaborating agencies and/or partners. Promote parent involvement activities and refer families to other CEO programs, as needed.
- Ensure the timely review and submission of all required paperwork, and reports including electronic approvals of time timesheets, purchase orders, in-kind and enrollment following CEO policies and procedures.
- Supervise all assigned substitutes, volunteers, student teachers, interns, and service providers in classrooms following agency and department policies and procedures.
- Works in partnership and communicates effectively with building tenants or service providers, as applicable at each location.
- Act as a role model for all staff to follow, consistently supporting and enforcing policies, procedures, and agency mission.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education required.
- A New York State certification in Pre-Kindergarten (General Ed. Or Special Ed) or B-2 certification required.
- Experience teaching preschool-age children.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S without the need for Visa Sponsorship.

- $28 per hour- 35 hours a week
