Supervisor, Shift; Manufacturing (12 Hour Nights) in Rensselaer, NY

The Shift Supervisor is a member of the Production Department of Curia - Rensselaer. It is the responsibility of Production to produce product in accordance with cGMP manufacturing procedures and Standard Operating Procedures. The Shift Supervisor reports to the Production Manager and directs the Chemist Operators daily activities which include, but are not limited to the following: production activities, general housekeeping activities, and other production related activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all activities of Chemist Operators on their shift to manufacture API’s according to the issued batch records along with performing daily housekeeping actions as required.
  • Keep the Production staff and managers informed of progress and activities.
  • Responsible for preparation of pass-off sheets for shift change and communicating changes to procedures and pertinent information to next shift.
  • Responsible to the Manager for a summary of daily activities and progress of shift
  • Responsible for overseeing cleaning of production equipment and facility in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and cGMP guidelines.
  • Responsible for enforcing all safety procedures and guidelines in accordance with company SOPs and OSHA standards.
  • Train and coach Chemist Operators in new procedures and policies
  • Act as an extension of QA in auditing functions.  This includes:
    • Daily evaluation and audit of current batch records in progress for their shift and the previous shift.
  • Daily walk thru audits of the facility to identify and correct errors, eliminate problems or bring them to the attention of upper management
  • Enable and enact change to GMP problems they note in the facility
  • (Clutter in the halls, inventory problems, etc.).
  • Shift Supervisors are responsible for follow-up and reply to all QA Internal Audits in the allowed time frame which includes corrective action taken where necessary.  This includes:
    • Assigning corrective actions to the appropriate people
  • Ensuring the completion of correct actions and maintaining the standard.

 

Qualifications 

  • 5-10 years Manufacturing experience required
  • Knowledge of S.O.P.’s
  • Good leadership and communication skills

 

Other Qualifications

  • Must pass a background check
  • Must pass a drug screen
  • May be required to pass Occupational Health Screening

 

Pay Range: $71,000-$88,400/yr.

Education, experience, location and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
