The team provides care in a residential setting, thoughtfully designed for individuals with memory loss, Alzheimerās disease and other related dementias. Eddy Hawthorne Ridge is a 66-bed assisted living community on 14 beautiful acres in East Greenbush, New York.āÆĀ

Position Summary: The Resident Assistant, or RA, is a caregiver providing assistance to residents under the supervision of the LPN and/or RN. Resident Assistants provide compassionate care that is respectful of each resident's needs, values and wishes.āÆāÆĀ

Resident Assistants provide the following nursing services under the supervision and direction of an LPN or RN across the continuum of care at SPHP.āÆĀ
Assist residents with activities of daily living⯠(ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility in a respectful, compassionate manner.āÆĀ
Assist residents in taking medications as needed.āÆĀ
Encourage and support resident independence and dignity.āÆĀ
Monitor resident safety and well-being, reporting any change to the LPN.⯠Consult with the LPN/RN on any changes of healthstatuses of residents.āÆĀ
Build meaningful relationships with residents, understanding their personal histories, preferences and routines and anticipatethe needs of residents.āÆĀ
Help with light housekeeping and meal service as needed to maintain a safe and clean-living space.āÆāÆāÆĀ
Participate in team meetings and communicate/collaborate with coworkers and supervisors.āÆāÆĀ
Promote a warm, friendly, and respectful environment.āÆĀ

Education Requirements:āÆĀ
Must possess patience, empathy and a genuine desire to help othersāÆĀ
High school diploma or GED preferred.āÆĀ
Previous experience in senior care, health care or assisted living preferred, but not requiredāÆĀ
āÆĀ
Must be able to:āÆĀ
Ability to follow care plan and safety protocolsāÆāÆāÆĀ
Working knowledge of computers including electronic health record, checking email, and preforming required in-servicing, along with use of other required applicationsāÆĀ
Have the physical, visual and auditory ability adequate to perform resident careāÆĀ
Maintain composure and positivity in a high stress environmentāÆĀ
Promote physical, cognitive, and psychosocial well-being of each residentāÆĀ
Work with residents in a highly personal manner during stages of acute and chronic illnessāÆĀ

Pay Range: :$16.70 - $20.36 per hour
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
