Westaff is Hiring for General Laborer in Ellington, CT!

Shift: Monday – Friday 7am - 3:30pm, occasional overtime 

Pay Rate: $17-18/ an hour, depending on experience 

Position Summary:

For over 50 years, the company has specialized in designing and producing high-quality corrugated boxes, displays, and custom packaging solutions. 

General Laborer Responsibilities:

• Feed raw cardboard sheets into converting machinery, assist operators with machine setups, and catch finished products at the end of the production line.
• Load, unload, and stack corrugated sheets, pallets, and finished bundle boxes manually or using hand trucks.
• Inspect finished boxes for defects, proper scoring, clean cuts, and correct gluing before bundling.
• Count, bundle, strap, and wrap finished products according to customer specifications and prepare them for shipping.
• Collect, sort, and transport scrap cardboard and trim to the recycling baler machine to maintain a clutter-free floor.
• Clean machinery, sweep work areas, and follow all 5S/housekeeping guidelines to ensure a safe environment.

General Laborer Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a corrugated packaging or printing environment preferred.
• Experience working in manufacturing or production.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machine operation.
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and team-oriented.
