Attorney – General Civil Practice

Location – East Lansing, MI

Position Overview:

Abood Law Firm is seeking an experienced attorney to join our collaborative legal team handling a variety of general civil matters.  Our firm operates on a team-based model in which attorneys regularly review cases together, share strategy, and support one another to achieve the best outcomes for our clients.  This role is ideal for an attorney who values collaboration, thoughtful case analysis, and high-quality advocacy.

Responsibilities:

-        Manage and assist with general civil cases from intake through resolution
-        Participate in team case reviews and strategy discussions
-        Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence
-        Conduct legal research and assist in developing litigation strategy
-        Represent clients in hearings, depositions, mediations, and court proceedings
-        Maintain accurate timekeeping and meet billing expectations
-        Communicate effectively with clients and team members

Qualifications:

-        Active license and in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan
-        Admission to practice before Michigan district and circuit courts required
-        Strong academic credentials
-        3-5 years of civil litigation or general civil practice experience
-        Willingness to learn
-        Strong legal writing and analytical skills
-        Ability to collaborate, receive feedback, and contribute to team strategy
-        Professionalism, organization, and client-centered approach

Preferred:

-        Experience appearing in Michigan courts
-        Familiarity with Michigan Court Rules and civil procedure
-        Admission to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern or Western Districts of Michigan.
