Job Purpose
- Corporate Affairs is at the forefront of managing critical relationships with key stakeholders, including engagement with policymakers, community leaders, and non-profit collaborators. It is responsible for implementing government relations strategies and leading corporate communications to increase internal awareness of Honda’s business direction and enhance Honda’s reputation.Â
- This role is responsible for providing on-site corporate affairs services at the East Liberty (ELP) Honda facilities. Primarily, this position will lead the development and deployment of internal plant communications and events, working directly with leadership, to ensure messaging is tailored, timely and aimed at increasing associate awareness through appropriate channels. This position will also support local, external media relations, working with AHM Communications to support product or plant requests and on-site special events. The Corporate Affairs Specialist role will be a key conduit for Honda site leadership, associates and internal groups with Regional Corporate Affairs’ overall strategies and priorities
Key Accountabilities
- Lead ELP internal corporate affairs activities
- Lead the development of ELP internal communications, bulletins, associate storytelling, leadership communication, etc. at those facilities
- Lead Site Town Hall logistics and production, speechwriting and slide development
- Lead Site emergency communications and support with media, as needed
- Oversee Site videos and photography activity requests
- Develop strategy, process and manage Site Tour Program
- Review local manufacturing website page content quarterly and provide necessary content updates
- Work with designers and outside vendors to ensure strong internal communications  Â
- Support ELP external corporate communications
- Support New Model Line Off and Anniversary/Milestone activity logistics, speechwriting and communications
- Support local media relations and requests from external media, as needed.
- Internal Reporting
- Monitor, PDCA, and report on local communications activity, communicate action plans with leadership, and support Unit business plan and budget activities
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Â
- College degree in Corporate Communication, Journalism or related field desired
- 5-8 years of experience
- Strong writing skills, understanding of social and traditional media
Workstyle
- Schedule: Full-time; occasional evenings, weekends and holidays; Hybrid
- Location: Must be within commutable distance to Honda facility within specified region
- This is a salaried positionÂ
- Travel expected 2-3 times per year for average of 2-3 days
