Position Summary Moorings Park is seeking a dedicated and talented Unit Manager (RN) to join our team. The Unit Manager Reports to the Director of Nursing. The Unit Manager is responsible for providing a system of care for residents in a manner and environment promoting maintenance and enhancement of each resident’s quality of life and provides dignity and respect in full recognition of each resident’s individuality. This position includes hands-on assistance and training to the nurses working under the direction of the Unit Manager.

 

Key Contributions

  • Responsible for the oversight of assigned patients, supervises and evaluates nursing interventions for residents, maintaining the standards of care in conjunction with nursing leadership
  • Facilitates meetings and committees to handle resident care issues.
  • Provides leadership, coaching and guidance; creating a working environment which promotes participation and works to retain and develop staff and utilizes the progressive discipline process.
  • Identifies staff development needs and assists with implementation of comprehensive staff development program in conjunction with Staff Development Coordinator.
  • Participates in planning, development and evaluation of nursing department programs and projects for achieving/sustaining nursing care delivery excellence
  • Analyze unit performance metrics and implement strategies to improve efficiency and outcomes.
  • Lead the development of the resident care plan and promote interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Communicates effectively with physicians, staff, patients, and families.
  • Escalate critical issues to the DON and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Represent the unit in leadership meetings as needed.
  • Coordinates with the DON, ADON & MDS to improve residents Quality Measures, implement and ensure interventions are in place for clinical needs.
  • Participates in the assurance of survey readiness throughout clinical practices.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language required.
  • During emergencies or natural disasters, may be required to remain on duty for the duration of the event.
  • Currently licensed in the State of Florida as RN.
  • 3 years of nursing experience with progressive responsibility for supervisory duties.
  • Geriatric Nursing experience in a long-term care setting preferred.
