Job Description:

Saab, Inc. in East Syracuse is seeking a Quality Engineer to join a dynamic Quality Assurance team supporting the development of complex marine and ground-based radar systems. The ideal candidate is seeking an opportunity to grow their Quality Engineering expertise and expand their skills in a collaborative and fast paced environment. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Execute Quality Management System principles and processes.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all quality related matters on assigned programs.

  • Perform contract review, quality program planning, and requirements flow down.

  • Ensure products meet contractual requirements.

  • Identify and disposition nonconforming material.

  • Conduct corrective action investigations and implement resolutions.

  • Serve as Chair of the Material Review Board.

  • Develop quality performance estimates for cost proposals and project scheduling.

  • Support ECR/N generation, review, and participation in Change Control Boards.

  • Perform data and trend analysis.

  • Maintain and manage Oracle ERP database records.

  • Perform internal audits to ensure process maturity and capability while maintaining compliance across customer, production, and supply chain functions.

  • Monitor and track Corrective Action Requests and Corrective Action Plans.

  • Coordinate with external quality assurance auditors and technicians to ensure compliance.

  • Identify, communicate, and execute value added process improvements and initiatives.

  • Promote a people first culture aligned with Saab’s leadership vision.

  • Travel up to 10% annually.

Secondary responsibilities:

  • Support incoming inspection and inspection planning.

  • Support calibration and maintenance of equipment.

  • Support Saab's internal quality metrics and reporting.

Compensation Range: $92,200 - $115,300

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field with 8+ years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to be self-driven and deliver a high quality of work.

  • Ability to drive and lead change.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Working knowledge of Department of Defense DoD programs, procedures, and processes.

  • Working knowledge of Quality System Management per AS9100.

  • Working knowledge of SEI CMMI.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Expertise in the aerospace industry.

  • Extensive customer interaction experience, including contract-related engagement.

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification.

  • IPC or other relevant industry certifications.

Citizenship Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
