Under the supervision of the Plant Manager, the Mechanical Assembler/Welder assembles and fabricates industrial ovens using a variety of manual and power tools. While experience is preferred, we are always willing to train candidates who have a great attitude, strong mechanical aptitude, and who are willing and eager to learn.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Â
- Read and interpret technical CAD drawings (blueprints) and follow work instructions.
- Perform some welding work, including MIG and TIG, or be willing to learn how to weld.
- Perform mechanical assembly, working with a variety of mild steel, stainless steel, structural angle, channel, and tubing.
- Set up, fit, and position weldments, having several parts.
- Develop working relationships with Engineering and other departments to address and resolve issues.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to address and resolve manufacturing, design, and quality problems, and to ensure the continuous improvement of processes and methods.
