Description:

As a Mortgage Loan Originator, you are responsible for generating new business leads by actively building relationships within the community.   Mortgage Loan Originators guide customers through the mortgage process, from initial discussions to loan closing

Business Hours:  

Typical work week is M-F 8:15am-5pm, flexibility required to meet customer needs

This position may be located at any one of our branch locations.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, referral sources, and industry professionals to generate leads and foster business growth.
  • Meet with customers to understand their financial situation, goals, and preferences.
  • Recommend suitable loan products based on customer’s needs and qualifications.
  • Assist customers with completing loan applications and gather necessary documentation.
  • Evaluate customer’s financial status, credit history, and debt-to-income ratio to determine loan eligibility with a thorough understanding of loan documentation criteria.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines. 
  • Actively promote other Bank products and services as appropriate to the customer’s situation. 
  • Maintain regular communication with customers, real estate agents, and other parties involved in the transaction to provide updates and address any concerns.
  • Resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the loan process to ensure a smooth closing.
  • Achieve KPIs as established by Bank leadership.  
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • NMLS registry.
  • 2 years of relevant mortgage lending experience at a financial institution or mortgage company.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage products, regulations, and market trends
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Reliable transportation for travel between Branch Locations and Closings.
  • Microsoft Office competent.
  • Knowledge of Encompass and Optimal Blue software is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act and the requirements of the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Additionally, all employees must follow policies and procedures to minimize risk by exercising good judgment, raising questions to management, and adhering to policy guidelines
