Job Summary

Serves as an advanced technical contributor with responsibility for complex equipment operation, in‑depth troubleshooting, and process optimization. This role acts as a subject‑matter expert and supports root cause analysis, production stability, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Job Functions*

  • Operate and support complex, high‑precision, or mission‑critical manufacturing equipment.
  • Lead complex setups, changeovers, and production restarts following downtime or disruptions.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues affecting production.
  • Perform advanced operator maintenance and support predictive or preventive maintenance activities.
  • Analyze quality, scrap, downtime, and OEE data to identify performance trends.
  • Participate in structured root cause investigations and corrective action development.
  • Optimize manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost.
  • Serve as a technical expert during equipment failures or quality events.
  • Train and mentor manufacturing technicians to improve technical capability.
  • Support new product introductions, equipment installations, and process validations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing, warehouse, industrial, or related experience.

Competencies – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of complex manufacturing equipment, processes, and system interactions across operations, maintenance, and quality.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve advanced mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic issues.
  • Skill in applying structured root cause analysis methods to prevent recurring production or quality problems.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control, performance metrics, and data analysis techniques.
  • Ability to lead complex setups, changeovers, and recovery efforts following equipment downtime.
  • Skill in developing and maintaining technical documentation, work instructions, and standardized processes.
  • Ability to mentor and technically develop other manufacturing technicians.

 

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Work Environment

Self-paced, 10 hr shifts. May be exposed to fumes, loud noises and extreme temperatures infrequently. Functional near, far and peripheral vision and functional hearing required. 

Physical Demands

Heavy, lifting up to 85 lbs., pushing/pulling up to 280 lbs.
