What You’ll Do:

Promote Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with OSHA and Vulcan standards. Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. Respond to emergencies as directed and perform tasks in the interest of public safety and property protection during emergencies.

Control Traffic. Work with other team members to perform daily traffic control and flagging activities. Follow safety rules and regulations on all work zone and flagging sites, including placing signs, barricades, traffic cones/drums, and other warning devices.

Operate and Maintain Fleet Vehicles. Operate truck (and trailer, at times) within construction work zone in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures. Drive truck to and from project sites daily. Perform daily inspections of motorized vehicles, etc.

Provide Assistance at Construction Sites. Other work as needed to aid advancement of construction projects.

Training. Attend and engage in scheduled training sessions such as ATSSA Technician, ATSSA Supervisor, ATSSA Flagger, and OSHA 10 hour. Learn MUTCD rules and regulations.

Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.

 



Skills You’ll Need:

Experience. Traffic control and/or road construction experience is preferred, but not required.

Flexibility. Must be able to work overtime and extended hours depending on construction project demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises. Occasionally, nighttime work may be required.

Ready to Drive. Must have a valid driver’s license. Obtain DOT Medical Card upon hire.
