Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – School-BasedOn-Site | Full-Time | Temporary Assignment with Potential to Convert to Permanent

HealthPRO Pediatrics is seeking a licensed and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support an elementary school population through an in-person, school-based assignment. This is a full-time temporary role with the potential to transition into a permanent position based on program needs and performance.

 

Assignment Details

  • Start Date: Approximately February 1

  • Duration: 12 weeks (end date to be determined)

  • Schedule: 5 days per week (School hours)

  • Employment Type: On-Site only (no virtual services)

  • Pay:$45-50 /hour

Student & Caseload Information

  • Age Group: Elementary school students

  • Caseload: Approximately 45–50 students (fluid)

  • Disabilities Served:

    • Other Health Impairment (OHI)

    • Learning Disabilities

    • Autism

    • Language Impairment

  • Service Model: Services are primarily provided outside the general education setting

  • Licensed and/or certified Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Maryland

  • Ability to provide in-person services within a school setting

Responsibilities

  • Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, voice, and swallowing abilities using standardized tests and clinical observations. Develop accurate diagnoses based on assessment results.
  • Treatment and Education: Implement evidence-based therapies for speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders; monitor and adjust treatment plans; educate and support patients and families on disorders, treatment strategies, and daily communication improvement.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of evaluations, progress, and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Collaboration: Work with healthcare providers to ensure effective patient care and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist, or license eligible
  • Certification: Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) (CCC-SLP).
  • Skills: Strong assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in using diagnostic tools, therapy equipment, relevant software, and electronic health record systems, with a proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
