SUMMARY
The warehouse receiver/loader is responsible for all aspects of warehouse functions including the receiving shipment from vendors, storing and stocking materials, handling and counting product, and preparing and fulfilling orders of product for customer delivery while maintaining the warehouse in a safe and orderly fashion. Â
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operations:Â
- Receive product coming into the building by vendors, customers, or other warehouses accurately and promptly.
- Verify the quantity and description of product received by checking the product against the invoice.
- Examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items. Appropriately report/record and communicate discrepancies.
- Accurately stock and place product on shelves, racks or other designated area in an orderly and timely manner.
- Accurately identify and count stock materials.
- Answer phones and enter orders into company system if needed.Â
- Converse with customers about items and product availability.Â
- SAFETY and maintenance:Â
- Ensure warehouse machinery/equipment is maintained on a regular basis.
- Report any unsafe working conditions or machinery to your supervisor.
- Safely operate all the necessary equipment in the work area.
- SELECTION and Fulfillment:
- Pick/pull product for customer orders.Â
- Identify product by size, type, style, color, or product name.
- Verify product and quantities match order invoice and appropriately box items.
- Communicate to supervisor any inconsistencies with product flow or order details.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Be able to properly identify product and materials.
- Have solid reading skills – Be able to read/match orders on invoices.
- Possess basic math and reasoning skills.
- Safely operate inventory control equipment including power jacks and hand carts.
- Lift boxes or cartons up to 50 pounds to a height of 3-5 feet unassisted.
- Be able to operate and withstand cold temperatures in the warehouse environment.
- Be able to stand, walk, and lift or transport boxes or cartons for extended periods of time.
- Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Be reliable, punctual and professional.Â
