The Entry Material Handler role is responsible for operating a forklift to collect, stack, and deliver a wide variety of materials within the production plant to support assigned team.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Demonstrates consistency in practicing all safety procedures.

  • Identifies material types and practice proper disposal of scrap.

  • Operates the following equipment associated with material handling: radios, scanners, trash compacter, and cardboard bailer.

  • Maintains a clean and orderly area ensuring that; aisle ways are clear, part racks are organized, parts are stocked in posted locations

  • Fills out daily check list and completes visual inspections.

  • Keeps supplies adequately stocked for team’s daily needs.

  • Responds to team request in timely manner.

  • Understands how to correctly use the following functions within JDE programing (i.e. sending Kanban cards, tracking Kanban card status and history.)

  • Utilizes all programs for communication of supply needs in department.

  • Models Team Member Expected Behaviors and Henny Penny core values

  • Other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • 1- 3 years of experience in material handling or operating a forklift

  • Forklift Certification required

  • Crane license required for Punch Cell roles

  • Ability to frequently lift or move objects up to 60 lbs.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize internal customer needs

  • Effective communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot

  • Knowledge of basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)

  • Ability to understand manufacturing processes such as Kanban, JDE, BOM viewer, method sheets, etc.

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos

  • Basic computer skills

  • Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment drug screen, background check screen, and motor vehicle screen (if applicable)
