SUMMARY

The material handler will work in the receiving area in both building 56 and building 46 providing material movement and other services to both departments throughout the day.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Move job material in the plant using pump jack, electric jack, forklift, or Hi-Lo
• QC packaging of jobs according to directions listed on job bag.
• Secure pallets for shipping using pallet wrapper, hand shrink wrap, or strapping.
• Assist in packing boxes to make ready for shipment.
• Generate shipping documents that include Bills of Lading (BOL’s), shipping labels, and packing labels.
• Basic record keeping
• Ensure pallets are labeled and correct shipping documents are attached.
• Load/unload trucks and vans
• Load/unload mail supplies from storage trailers in yard
• Keep the staging areas neat and organized.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements

 REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Previous Shipping/warehouse experience.
• Previous experience operating Hi-Lo, forklift, and electric pallet jack.
• Knowledge of using a computer for data entry
• Knowledge of general maintenance procedures
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
