Candidates must reside within NorthLakes' service area at the time of hire and maintain residency throughout employment.

Salary begins at $68,511 + depending on experience based on a 1.0 FTE.

The Registered Occupational Therapist provides high quality assessment and treatment to patients to help develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and to help develop cognitive skills.

Essential Functions of the Job: [Other duties may be assigned.] 

  • Prepare for, administer, score, and interpret initial evaluations and re-evaluations including writing a report. 

  • Prepare for and provide therapy for treatment sessions. 

  • Complete a daily note for every treatment session (should be completed within 72 hours). 

  • Fulfill paperwork requirements for progress notes, plan of care updates, and prior authorizations based on insurance company. 

  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers about treatment and home programming. 

  • Develop home programming when appropriate. 

  • Participate in staff meetings and/or staff coordination when appropriate. 

  • Complete required tasks for billing. 

  • Supervise COTA when applicable (including duties required to meet supervision requirements per state and licensure). 

  • Provide assessment and recommendations for appropriate treatments 

  •  Treat various mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders 

  • Appropriate use of PPE/infection control protocols when providing treatment to patients. 

  • Plans and administers therapeutic treatment by telephonic/ telehealth methodologies as indicated by patient needs and state guidelines. 

  • Review relevant literature, synthesize evidence-based materials 

  • Conduct case management and other administration tasks as needed 

  • Work with internal and external providers on patient referrals 

  • Refer patients to specialists as needed. 

  • Collaborate with NorthLakes providers as well as external resources and providers in the best interest of the patients’ continuation of care. 

  • Work collaboratively with NorthLakes support staff in the interest of care integration initiatives.  

Qualifications and Education Requirements 

Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy required and current, valid, and unrestricted license to practice the profession. 

 

Preferred Skills 

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Electronic Health Record Database software and Word Processing software.
