Alter Metal Recycling is searching for a Fabricator/Welder in its Eau Claire location. 

This location shreds automobiles, shears steel beams, and bales aluminum and other non-ferrous metals. The ideal applicant will be self-motivated and take satisfaction in a job well done. Modified/Flexible full or part-time Schedules are available. 

Summary Description:

The employee in this position must enjoy working with their hands, have an eye for detail, an analytical mind, and a mechanical aptitude with good welding and fabricating abilities. If you enjoy working around farms, industrial, or construction machines and equipment, this is an opportunity for you! 

Essential Functions:

• Maintain equipment with proactive and reactive maintenance and repairs.
• Welding and fabrication work on stationary and mobile equipment.
• Ability to maintain inventory of tools and supplies.
• Perform repairs, installing, troubleshooting, setting up and adjusting, welding, torching and lubrication activities. 
• Willing and able to work in all environmental elements.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 – 50 pounds.
• Organizational skills required.
• Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned.

Other areas of opportunity to work with or learn on the job:

• Hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, PLCs, bearings & conveyors.
• Familiarity with mobile equipment such as forklifts, loaders, roll-off trucks & excavators.
